In-Car Driving Lessons
- All BDE in-car driving lessons will be for 2hrs x 5 days. Some students learn to drive in 10 hours, and some may require additional hours. Completing the BDE course does not guarantee that you will be able to master the driving skills and techniques. Every student learns at a different pace.
- Pick and drop-off locations will be the same.
- If the student has booked the driving test in advance and requires driving practice around the drive test locations such as McCarthy, Walkley, or Canotek, there will be an extra charge for that. Please coordinate with your Driving Instructor to finalize the details.
- In some cases, if the student lives in a neighborhood that is classified as a restricted area by the City of Ottawa and the driving instructors cannot teach in that specific area due to the city regulations, the student must meet at a location that is outside the restricted area, and the driving instructor will communicate this.
Cancellations In-Car Driving Lessons
- Due to extreme weather conditions, the driving instructor may cancel the in-car lesson without penalty. Weather-related cancellations or rescheduling are made at the discretion of the driving instructor only.
- Students need to provide 24hrs notice to their driving instructor to cancel their scheduled classes. Failure to do so will result in a no-show for the number of hours booked that day. E.g., if a student was booked for 2hours and canceled the lessons without notifying 24hrs in advance, the student will lose 2hours or equivalent $value as a no-show. The next class will not be scheduled until the school pays the no-show penalty.
- Please coordinate with your assigned driving instructor, not the school, for all schedule-related concerns.
Ottawa Online Driving School Inc. reserves the right to cancel the in-car driving lessons. Your assigned driving instructor may re-schedule or cancel the in-car driving lessons due to unexpected vehicle maintenance, personal emergency, illness, weather or driving conditions, delays due to road tests at the drive test center without any charges to the student.
