Ottawa Online Driving School Inc. is a Ministry of Transportation approved Beginner Driver Education BDE course provider. We provide BDE courses under the digital Curriculum.

To register for the BDE course, please Interac transfer (e-transfer) the chosen BDE fees + (tax) to ottawaods@gmail.com. Once you have transferred the relevant fees, please email the school Your Full Name, Email Address, Contact number in the transfer description.
If you are below 18 years old, please provide Your Guardian’s Full Name, Email Address, and Contact Number.
You will receive a text message and an email with the link to register for your BDE course. Feel free to email us at ottawaods@gmail.com or call us at 613-602-7268 during the process if you need any assistance or guidance. It may take up to 24-48 hours for the registration process. You must complete the BDE course online theory section and in-car driving lessons within one year of your registration. Failure to do so will require you to register again, and the fees will not be refunded.

G2 vehicle rental in Ottawa
Vehicle rental will be provided for drive test locations in Ottawa only (Walkley & McCarthy). There will be an extra charge for other locations.
Note: Currently, in-car driving lessons in the Standard & Premium BDE package are provided only within our service area, i.e., Barrhaven & Riverside south. For other locations, please contact us to confirm if there will be an extra pick and drop charge or not. We will confirm the additional cost based on the location.

AFTER REGISTERING FOR BDE ONLINE YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE ONLINE SECTION AND IN-CAR LESSONS WITHIN 1 YEAR TO GET YOUR BDE CERTIFICATE. Information on MTO Approved BDE Course
Learning to drive is a rite of passage for many people, a chance to gain new freedom to go where they want. Knowing the road rules and understanding how to drive safely and responsibly can make the experience safe and enjoyable. Acquiring the necessary knowledge through the MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education course can help learners succeed.
The TrubicarsMTO-approved e-learning curriculum can help give students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for operating a vehicle safely. This highly interactive course can help students achieve success as they learn to become qualified drivers who can safely handle whatever conditions they encounter.
The Trubicars driver instruction course allows participants to interact on multiple levels. Practice activities that have been integrated into the course include many scenario-based questions and activities that help to reinforce the material while improving retention of the information.
- Learning through Trubicars online course gives students a full year of access to a course approved by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.
- Highly interactive slides, activities, and videos are central to the learning.
- Students can learn at their own pace, working from the comfort of their own homes, schools, work, or anywhere, at any time of the day or night.
- Course support is also available between 8 am and 10 pm each day.
This course is broken into three sections
- 20 hours of online theory
- 10 hours of digital instructions and homework
- 10 hours of private in-vehicle lessons.
In total, students should expect to spend a minimum of 40 hours on the MTO BDE certification.

In-Car Driving Lessons
- All BDE in-car driving lessons will be for 2hrs x 5 days. Some students learn to drive in 10 hours, and some may require additional hours. Completing the BDE course does not guarantee that you will be able to master the driving skills and techniques. Every student learns at a different pace.
- Pick and drop-off locations will be the same.
- If the student has booked the driving test in advance and requires driving practice around the drive test locations such as McCarthy, Walkley, or Canotek, there will be an extra charge. Please coordinate with your Driving Instructor to finalize the details.
- In some cases, if the student lives in a neighborhood that is classified as a restricted area by the City of Ottawa and the driving instructors cannot teach in that specific area due to the city regulations, the student has to meet at a location that is outside the restricted area, and the driving instructor will communicate this.
Cancellations In-Car Driving Lessons
- Due to extreme weather conditions, the driving instructor may cancel the in-car lesson without penalty. Weather-related cancellations or rescheduling are made at the discretion of the driving instructor only.
- Students need to provide 24hrs notice to their driving instructor to cancel their scheduled classes. Failure to do so will result in a no-show for the number of hours booked that day. E.g., if a student was booked for 2hours and canceled the lessons without notifying 24hrs in advance, the student will lose 2hours or equivalent $value as a no-show. The next class will not be scheduled until the school pays the no-show penalty.
- Please coordinate with your assigned driving instructor, not the school, for all schedule-related concerns.
- Ottawa Online Driving School Inc. reserves the right to cancel the in-car driving lessons. Your assigned driving instructor may re-schedule or cancel the in-car driving lessons due to unexpected vehicle maintenance, personal emergency, illness, weather or driving conditions, delays due to road tests at the drive test center without any charges to the student.
